• Frequently Asked Questions

    What is Book Club?

Book Club is a small-group enrichment program where students read age-appropriate, high-interest picture books (K-2) and chapter books (3rd-5th) and participate in guided discussion, hands-on activities, crafts, and games that reinforce reading comprehension, confidence, and communication skills. Our goal is to help students fall in love with reading!

What will my child be reading?

We thoughtfully choose engaging, age-appropriate books that are exciting, developmentally aligned, and fun to discuss.
We focus on strong characters, meaningful themes, vocabulary growth, and reader confidence.
All books are included in tuition and provided to your child at the start of each new unit.

    What is the cost?

Tuition for our 20-week Book Club session is $700 total (or $680 if paid in full at Week 1). This breaks down to about $35 per week, and includes all books, supplies, crafts, and activities.
A $100 deposit is due at registration to reserve your child’s spot and is applied toward tuition.
Families can choose to pay in full or make two installment payments ($300 at Week 1 and $300 at Week 6).

We also offer a Drop-In Pass ($45) for new students who’d like to try one session before enrolling — and $35 of that pass is credited toward tuition if you join!

Do parents need to stay during the Book Club?

Nope! Book Club is a fully supervised, drop-off enrichment experience. Parents do not need to stay on-site. Simply check in at the start of your session and return at pickup. Students can enter and exit through a carline at the High Five facility and will be met by their teacher.

    Where are Book Clubs located?

Book clubs are held in enrichment centers and schools across the Tampa area. Check on your area's location in the enrollment tabs at the top of the page.

    What grade groups are offered?

We offer Book Clubs for grades K-2, and 3rd-5th.

Do the kids all read together?

Yes, each group reads the same book together during the session. Your child will not have any reading to complete at home. The teacher will read aloud, pause for questions, and incorporate activities that support comprehension.

Is Book Club right for reluctant readers?

Absolutely. Many of our students start off hesitant and end up excited to come each week. Our approach builds confidence and curiosity, not pressure. All reading levels welcome!

Can my child try a session first?

Yes! We offer a Drop-In Pass for new students who want to experience a session before committing to the full 20-week program. The Drop-In Pass is $45 and may be used once per student (space permitting). If your child decides to enroll afterward, $35 of the pass will be credited toward tuition. Drop-In sessions are a great way to meet our teachers, experience a Book Club discussion, and see if it’s the right fit.

What happens if my child misses a week?

Absences are not refundable, as staffing, materials, and planning occur regardless of attendance. Your child’s spot remains reserved.

What does my child need to bring?

There is nothing you need to bring with you, other than a water bottle if you’d like! We will provide the books

    Will the crafts get messy?

Sometimes, yes! Book Club activities often include painting, gluing, and other creative projects that help bring the stories to life. We encourage hands-on exploration and creativity, which means a little mess is part of the fun. If you’re concerned about clothing, we recommend sending your child in something comfortable and play-friendly on Book Club days.
